Yes I cannot blame the mail for asking or printing but if it was one of my business partners giving away my comercial details I would be angry. It is the RFL I am questioning.

A geniune superstar of the game signed, sealed and delivered for the next 2 maybe 3 seasons. Mason is box office as proven by the media scrum on his arrival and the club will be banking on bums on seats from it im sure.
Im certain his presence will attract away fans who are 50/50 on whether to visit Craven Park to make the journey But the home support base needs to swell to take us onto the next level. As things stand we are a play off team. We want to be a trophy winning club and to achieve that takes cold hard cash in modern sport.
Hudge, Rob Crossland, Paul Luen etc etc have done what im sure every one of us would do it we had the means by ploughing money into the club at a personnal cost to make us competitive. Its now over to us.
Some diehards congregate on this forum i know. But im sure we all know dormant fans of the club who once they have experianced the match day at Craven Park will come back for more. These are the fans the club now need to attract and Willie Mason will have been signed partly to try and make that happen.
Despite the losses in the last 3 games Sunday i think will have a really special atmosphere. So if you have family, neighbours, workmates, boyfriends, girlfriends, mistresses, mates down the pub or whatever who havent been to see the Robins for a while encourage them to go to the game on Sunday.
Get them hooked, get them to buy a pass, merchandise, join the Rovers lottery. Im sure we havent yet hit the ceiling in terms of what attendances we can reach but now is the time for it to manifest itself with the most high profile player in the game on both sides of the world wearing the famous Red & White shirt
The board have kept their promise and im sure will be waiting to see a return on their investment on the field and off it.
Well if that ain't clutching at straws !
I'd be very worried if my club dump our best play maker, for a "today headline"....that's what you have to put up with I guess when your club is run by MEDIA JUNKIES !

They are not "commercial" details. The RFL is the sport's governing body and is responsible for regulating the game in the UK including registration of players. The registration of players is a regulatory not a commercial matter.
On the basis that this arrangement is legitimate, surely it was right for both Rovers and the RFL to go public? Much better than it being leaked out in the media that Mason did not yet have his Tongan passport.
FWIW I don't think you have anything to worry about because the RFL want Mason to play in Super League to raise the profile of the game, especially in view of Eastmond's recent defection to yawnion and although they cannot come out now and say they will agree to Dobson being re-registered, they will have "given the nod" to Rovers that when the time comes it won't be a problem.
First there was wisdom Then there was knowledge Now there is only information

You are probabley correct on all points but I find it disturbing that the media thinks it has the right to know everthing. I just come from a time when people did thier business in private without all this unnessasary fuss as no rules have been broken, As a rovers fan though I still fell a little uneasy about it why could we not wait untill his Tongan passport arived?

Maybe no one to do with HKR were pushing for what would be a very probable media storm.

I will say that if (yes, IF) Rovers lose Dobson to another club for the sake of the Willie Mason signing then they are bonkers. Surely they should have only taken this route if the special dispensation was granted for them to resign Dobson before they went ahead and ended his contract. If Masons Tongan Visa is all but here then surely waiting for that to come through before getting him here makes more sense than risking the loss of one of your influential players?
Yet your avatar indicates otherwise. BTW Clint was in nobody's pocket when he used Westerman as a speed bump at Cardiff
Rovers are certainly the most talked about Rugby League time in the world this week. Hopefully decent weather and a bumper crowd to welcome big Willie on Sunday.

No hopefully about it, Hudgell is already on record saying Craven Park will be packed to the rafters when Mason arrives. Forecast is heavy rain BTW. Will suit the Welsh, that. They might keep it to 30 points.
