the size of the queensland flood is roughly the same area and france and germany put together
in brisbane alone roughly 24000 homes and businesses have been flooded.
our floods were bad but the scale of the floods over there is unbelievable

The bulk of which is incredibly sparsely populated, I'm not dismissing the Brisbane/Queensland Floods as being insignificant, they aren't by a long stretch but when you compare populations (Hull 260,000, Brisbane 2,000,000) or Area (Hull 71Km2 Brisbane 1600Km2 about the same as London) (I want to get another source on that so may edit it) ) as insensitive as it a sounds 24K homes isn't a huge proportion of people/property.

i get what your saying but my point was that that the area that flooded here is tiny compared to queensland.

Yeah, sod 'em, ruddy Aussies. I thought they were supposed to be good at swimming anyway?
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Going back to the OP, are you going to organise a collection for the floods in Brazil, or the floods in Sri Lanka? Over 400k in Sri Lanka are now homeless because of the floods there, many dead, many more feared dead... and still not recovered from the tsunami of 2004. Oh and they need the help and arnt refusing aid... Or are you only bringing the Queensland ones up because its on the news more and a couple of players play over here?

1) I wouldnt give to either because im a greedy grunt (i did my share by losing my bet on here and putting £5 in a charity kitty) 2) Your missing the point, Oz arnt accepting money so it cant be arranged for queensland - they dont want it. The fact is that just because they speak the same language and play rugby doesnt mean there isnt someone else in more need.

I think they op is saying because your current team is full of australians it's only right you donate to the their flood fund
joking aside i can see why the op has suggested a collection especially when you consider the rugby connections amongst other things but as you say there are many areas in the world where people are suffering and in more need of donations
