Ryan Bailey...Just a to@@er.
Kevin Sinfield/Matt Diskin/Paul Wellens...Always on at the ref if the games not going their way.
Jon Clarke...Just smug.
Paul Cooke...Why else!
Glenn Morrison...Just a plank who couldn't back his mouth up.
Tommy Lee/Craig Hall...Frustrated more because they never used their bags of talent they have.

The list could be endless but most would not be hated, just dislike because they always have Hulls pants down when they play against them.
And for the record, hate is a strong word, I hate none of the above apart from no#1 in the list!

1. Very few people know the full story.
2. He's paid his debt to society
3. He appears to have straightened himself out on and off the pitch
4. He's a very committed and hard-working RL player and the fans appreciate that
5. He loves playing for Hull KR and cares about the club/fans, highlighted by him (reportedly) reduced to tears by the ovation at the end of the Wigan game the other week, + his excellent gesture of giving his match boots away to a young fan.

We would love and praise them, as all sports fans do once a player makes the switch to their club.

They used to have this feature in the HDM every week. It always seemed to be Barry McDermott. As a player he fitted the bill perfectly, but now he appears universally liked. Splendid fellow.

anyway, most of my list is from pre-SL:

Andy Fisher - anyone remember him on RL Raw (Dewsbury v Rovers) slagging us off in the dressing room for singing our version of "Old Faithful" during a play off game (2001?)

Gareth Handforth - ten bellied to$$pot who was a central plank of the Donny headhunters.

Richard Chapman - probably 'cos he always played well against us.

Barry Eaton - see above

Since 2007:

Kirk Yeaman, by some considerable distance, although it makes it all the sweeter to watch him playing in Jake Webster's pocket during derbies.
Ghandi - coward who runs 40 yards to smack someone from behind
Ben Westwood and his ten foot chin.

Just compiling this list has raised my blood pressure!

The full story.

Hmm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's how I've interpreted "the full story":

Ben goes to a pub in Normanton and gets drunk. Some bloke comes on to one of the girls in the pub and Ben and his mate lose it. They attack said bloke hitting him to the ground then proceed to kick 10 bells out of him. Leaving him prostrate on the ground they walk away, but Ben returns for a second pedifrenzied attack, even though his partner in crime tries to pull him back this time.

Ben is caught, and his horror he is charged with ABH. So he illegally visits the victim and is accused by the court of trying pervert the course of justice by trying to arrange a "financial "deal. He is later cleared of the perversion charge.

After being found guilty of the attack, however, Ben is locked up for 2 nights as the judge tries to decide on his sentence. He given a 12 month gaol sentence for the horrific attack which is suspended for 2 years and has to work for 240 hours unpaid in the community.

Hull Daily Mail provides video evidence, but warns viewers before seeing:
"WARNING - This video contains scenes of graphic violence."

Rovers decide not to sack him and he remains a player to this day.

That's a pretty full story. But I'd be delighted to know of any further details we all seem to have missed.

Willingly. You neglect to mention said victim attacking the girl prior to Cockayne's attack on him, which was a conveinient ommision on your part to suit your agenda.

You also mislead the perverting the course of justice part, given that it was the "victim" who approached Ben (not the other way around as per your version).

Apart from that, spot on, possibly 60% of your summary is accurate. Do you work in the local media?

Did he? that wasn't in any of the media reports I read. Care to provide a link?

Did he? I said Ben visited the victim in order for the two to discuss a resolution. I don't know who instigated this and didn't allude to that. Bit irrelevant, though, any meeting was illegal, regardless.

So, in lieu of a link, which other bits of the story has the world missed which goes someway to exonerating Ben? Perhaps Roofs can contribute?

No, I don't work in the local media. Do you?
