Bloody Hell that's some punishment..

I wonder if our own R.F.L. would have the balls to dish out anything like that if they were ever called upon to ?

I really do applaud the Australians in this one. The core elements to any sport has to be its integrety and honesty. While the punishment may seem harsh when compared to incidents in our League it must surely send out a message to those clubs tempted to ignore the rules clearly set out at start of play.

Harsh... but thoroughly deserved. Well done to the NRL for showing that cheats will be punished in their competition

Doubt the RFL would do anything near as harsh to Leeds if they had been discovered doing the same as Melbourne.

Its about time this sort of punishment was given for breaking the rules and rugby league code of conduct, I really do hope, if it ever happens again in our league the consequences will be just as severe. TAKE NOTE RFL!

we have already seen that the RFL will not do this unless it was a smaller club, some clubs have been found out at least 3 times with just a slap on the wrist resulting.

Mate of mine asked an interesting question about this tonight - as a Storm fan, would you care?

Or would you just think that it was worth it to experience the highs of the last 2/3years???

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

The question I havent seen asked is if they are systematically breakingthe salary cap that means that there is every chance that they still will be doing so this season and that they will have to bin players with immediate effect. I can only see SL clubs picking the bones as from what I gather the NRL clubs all run pretty much up to the max on the cap.

Also with a new RU franchise starting up next season in Melbourne will this effect the Storm and thier move to the new stadium. Would seem to be harsh justice if the Storm were to perish but i'd guess that's a very real possibility. Could you see the RNL letting a big club over here go out of business because of punitive measures they had dished out.

FL in my opinion the "lows" that the announcement brought far outweigh the "highs" of the last two/three years.

Anyone who listened to Matt King on Radio Manchester last night would understand how most if not all the Rugby League community feel about the situation.

Very sad all round.
