No. Rovers will have agreed with Cooke an amount that was acceptable to him to terminate the contract. (compromise agreement is the technical term)
If for example Cooke is on 120k and he would earn 80k over the next 7 months with contracts running November to November it may be that Cooke accepted a fee of 40k to leave knowing he would be earning a wage from the next day at Wakey, thus saving Rovers 40k. (**figures are all made up, i dont know what the real deal is)
