Probably not. But a Terry who's playing better away from home than he is on the pitch is still better than any of the others. Without Rio and Terry together, Ingerland are $hite at the back. They also need a RB ASAP.

Apart from the WC in Germany, Lampard has been the best player for Ingerland for years.

Lampard & Gerrard will always be a no go in the middle together. If he was fit, Hargreaves and Carrick would be my midfield. England have no player who can dictate the tempo, they will continue to try but it won't happen. It's obvious watching them, nobody commands the ball, there is little composure and it will be exposed by better sides. We don't even have the pace to counter effectively, we have no forward who runs the channels and plays off the shoulder, we ooze mediocrity and I'll be amazed if we pass the quarters, even with Capello in charge.

Why when gareth Barry is a better player than both of them. Barry has been the England team's best midfielder in the past year. He was very good again last night. England's MOTM last night, wthout a doubt.
Carrick did very little again last night. The commentators tried to put the change in England's fortunes down to Carrick's introduction. I nearly fell off my chair. They also never criticised Carrick when he gave the ball away two or three times and his passes were poor. I have never known a midfielder so scared and heartless as Carrick. He is happy to give the ball to the centre-halves and other midfielders rather than try and take control himself.
You Rags / OOT Rags still bitter about the treatment of Neville?
I can maybe understand others not supporting England as they are not patriotic. However, to want your country to lose is a bit odd. This kind of thing only seems to happen in England.

Ignore him. He thinks that he will look more of a United fan if he pretends he doesn't support England. I'd imagine he wore Argentina shirts, and saing ARGENTINA toward Tevez.
England look as confused as ever in midfield. I can't pretend to know more than Capello, Eriksson and McC....ok, Capello and Eriksson but why Gerrard is being asked to play this roving role where he is of no use to anyone is beyond me. He needs to play behind Rooney is a 4-4-1-1. There's still room for Lampard in that side against lesser opposition but against the big guns I'd drop another defensive midfielder in alongisde Barry. The other option is to go 4-4-2 and drop one of Gerrard and Lampard because playing Gerrard out of position is helpful to no-one.

Hart
Johnson Terry Ferdinand Cole
Lennon Lampard Barry Milner
Gerrard
Rooney
Would be my best XI.
I would favour that team. That team has balance.
I sincerely hope Johnson comes back from injury and plays a part because Brown has to be the worst right-back I have seen play for England. Terrible footballer.
I have to admit I wasn't impressed with baines at all. His crossing was poor and he never seemed to want to take the initiative. I also hope that if he plays for England again, he worries more about his own positioning than that of the centre-halves. Doesn't look international quality to me. I would rather see Warnock or Shorey selected ahead of him.
There's either alot of trolls on here, alot of retard muppets on here, or alot of knee jerking jerks on here.
Lampard misses two chances and suddenly he isn't good enough? Give me a f-cking break! The guy has been awesome for England these past few years.
Those that boo'd Terry are complete goose mongers, so typical of our mongey fans to boo one of our best players, in a home game, months away from a World Cup finals. Who actually thought that was a good idea? And who honestly thinks he shouldn't be in the team? Hasn't he been in the World 11 for the past 2/3 years? Yeah, he's totally sh.it that guy. As soon as he gets his head off the beach and back on the pitch we'll see the JT of old.
Don't know how Capello can look past Crouch now, what does he have to do to get a start!? 'Rooney needs someone to play off' 'Rooney needs a big man to hold it up for him' - No he doesn't. WE need 2 goal scoring strikers if we're gonna have a chance of winning the WC. And Crouch looks like he's the man to do that. His record is extremly impressive.
I thought Walcott looked a little rusty and needs afew more games to get back to his best, which is expected, Milner should have started for me. Never rated Carrick. Gaz Baz played really well, again, was probably MOM until Crouch sorted that one out. SWP made himself another wide man who'll be hard to ignore come WC time.
I do wish he'd pick the team on club form though and drop some of the big names from time to time. Especially in friendlies like last nights, it was all our subs who changed the game for us.
