The Card Company issued a number of them with wrongly printed info on.

Obviously these have been reprinted, but it seems a number of people have tried it on!

IF my assumption is correct the club cannot be at fault.

Tut Tut to some of our supporters for fraudulent activity!!!!!

id blame those who have access to dodgy printing machines myself ;)

Sorry. :)

they could call it Turnstyle gate but Welham & Dobson might take offence

There are probably a number of contributory factors at work here, and to glibly dismiss any possibility that the club may be one of them seems wilfully naive.

Yes some people do have genuine passes that are simply not working for one reason or another, but the vast majority of people currently not gaining entry to the ground are those that are either trying to gain access fraudulently or those with genuine passes that contain the wrong information.

In the case of the latter, whilst I wholeheartedly agree some blame must go to the club, it is also the fans responsibility to check their details are correct on their passes.

Speaking to someone at the club and someone involved with fancard, they suggested the teething problems were no different from any other club they'd dealt with and once incorrect passes are rectified and people realise they won't get in with someone else's pass or barcode, the system will operate as expected.

So the average punter pays £60 to fund this system. The club pockets this money in July/August 2009. Passes are distributed in haphazard fashion with Rovers having to get people to go in and collect them a week or so before the season starts. There are issues on day 1 both with passes and away supporters matchday tickets. The club issues a statement on the official website declaring the whole thing a success. The club then issues a statement on the website asking people to go in and validate their passes. Further issues occur vs Huddersfield, again with both passes and matchday tickets. The club puts out a statement claiming season pass fraud is now an issue. This begs two questions. Why are matchday tickets affected, and is this a new problem since the declaration of complete success after the Salford game? There is also the logistical issue around junior pass swaps.
Hudgell is quick to accuse other clubs of "selling their fans short", but if I'd shelled out £60 to bankroll this 7 months ago and had a pass that didn't scan, I'm not sure I'd class it as good value.

I must be the exception then, didn't shell out £60, got my 2 correct passes back in november through the post no problems, been to both home games and got in straight away again with no problems, whilst queuing for the east stand at both games didn't see anyone turned away or let in through the gates or know anyone who has.

Now I'm either really lucky (in which case I'm looking forward to the lottery this week) or is it that these are teething problems with a new system that is only affecting a minority and being wildly exaggerated by the black and whites????

I too received my pass several months ago and have been able to gain entry to the ground.

I thank my lucky stars that I was not unfortunate enough to be part of Mrs. Barista's family, the poor devils appear to have hit every single branch on the unlucky tree on the way down.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

You not a Club Rovers member then? Shame on you for letting everyone else pay £60 to bankroll this rather wonderful technology. And if there are "teething problems", why put out an official statement that all is perfect?

no not a club rovers member and the merits of that scheme have been done to death previously, what I will say is I saw the need for the rise in prices to our passes this year in order to continue with ground improvements and continued funding of a winning team, especially as we'd had a freeze on prices since promotion. I figured the club rovers scheme was a cosmetic exercise to sugar coat the necessary rise in prices which I was already happy to meet, not everyone is as understanding as myself!

The fact remains though that the vast majority of the crowds at the 2 home games have had no problems gaining entry to the ground, there have not been large numbers locked out after kick off and the kick offs haven't needed to be put back to accomodate all this "perceived chaos"

TBF the only issue my in-laws (father-in-law's sister) had was self-inflicted, ie turning up for the Salford game with a till receipt. Still got in, mind.
