At some point last season SM said that they were playing the way they were because the squad of players he had didn't have the skills needed to play expansive rugby.
Now that it is blindingly obvious that the brand of rugby we are currently playing is getting us nothing more than beaten soundly why not give the team and creative players in it's midst thier heads and allow them to play some open rugby. We have the Smith's, Houldsworth and Ratchford who are all creaters rather than preventers for god's sake let's try something a little more positive than the fair were being served up.
What's the worst that can happen? they can get beaten but at least they will have tried to change something for the positive.

what I have been saying for a long time, look at the stuff we played against Huddersfield and saints last season, two games we won looking like possible play off contenders and the SLUG said at the time it mystified him how we could play so good, so if any Salford player is reading this rip up the game plan and play the way you want, off the cuff and open rugby, what we want to see and you want to play.

I was talking to an amateur rugby league coach who actually spoke with Noble & Harris after Fridays game & the short point was (1) could not believe how easy it was (2) Could not believe Salford did not change there tactics at half time? Says it all!
why dont players use there initiative then and do something about it? When i've played sport and something isn't going my teams why i try to put it right somehow not wait for my coach to say summat!

More he said she said, personally I'm sick of all the posters on here constantly quoting "can't reveal the source" it's too easy to come out with this type of nonsense which does no one ESPECIALLY our club any good.

just what we need at the moment player power undermining the coach, oh wait a minute........tried that before and it didn't work then either.
Fwiw my wifes mate at work reckons Salford fans in the main are nothing but gossiping fishwives!
Does anybody remember when we played St Helens in 2005 and half the squad was out injured?
We had a small mobile pack and played an open game of attacking rugby that night. The team performed excellently that night, and if it hadn't been for the odd moment of magic from Jamie Lyon we may have gone on to win that game!!
In Cashmere, Adamson, Sibbit, Swain and Boyle we do have some mobile forwards, even Parker defies his shape. Couple that with some great half backs and the pace we have in our backline, just maybe it's worth a chance!
So far this season Salford City Reds have been slow out of the traps and have been forced to play catch up Rugby and in the modern game you will not win many games after giving teams a start.
SO THE BEST FORM OF DEFENSE IS ATTACK....

Blimey you can tell that alot of people have never played the sport on here. structure is important in the sets of 6. although off the cuff rugby is exciting, its impossible to keep up for the full 80. we also dont need the biggest set of forwards in the league to compete. getting back to basics, i.e. not knocking on as much, as well as an improved kicking game will see us improve and concede less points. i think back to when ian watson was scrum half. we saw the sets out and kicked the ball in touch for their scrum- giving us a chance to reset and have more control in defence.
