A question and it's genuine. How can you support a club when you don't expect to win anything and your aim each season is to stay up, finish mid-table at best?
For the lifers such as yourself I know that doesn't matter, but I'm thinking of the many who have started supporting Latics recently and who (many, not all) changed their allegiance from United, Liverpool etc.

Well obviously i'd love to see us win something, or even make another final, but in the PL we have to be realistic that we are a poor relation to the likes of the top four and now City. We buy low and sell high. That is simply our level in the Prem.

As someone who has watched Wire since the age of 10 in 1966, that's an easy one to answer. You support your home town Club through thick and thin. Anyone who watched Warrington in the late sixties will know exactly what I mean. It's the same with all those Wigan fans who carried on watching after the relegation season.

That I can understand. I'll support Wigan till the day I die. Always have done, always will do. My question was about the fans who jump on a bandwagon at a high point eg after promotion to the Premier League. What do they do when it sinks in that this new team isn't going to bring them many glory days after all?
