Comedy thread of the year....., if Kris Welham ever gets near an England shirt i will hand my Rovers pass in and start watching baseball...
I dont mean any personal slight on the kid, he puts the effort in no doubt, and he doesnt pick himself or award himself nice contracts, but a limited trier is all he is...he would not get anywhere near the FC squad never mind team and they have been bums for two years...
The fact that he is a an elite division Hull KR first teamer, in the highest paid squad in Hull KRs history fills me with sadness when i think of the players i have seen fill those 3 & 4 shirts...Mike Smith, Gary Prohm, John Dorahy, Chris Close et al...
The fact he is, is one of the reasons Rovers are unlikely to make any further progress under the current watch in its present modus operandi....but he is one of the tools that gets JM his ginormous contract and benefits, because the rank and file laud him for producing a very ordinary player from the academy..yet i believe he was Dave Hall and Wayne Parkers player...
When we are skint (what do i mean when...), the chairmans fed up of shoring us up, and the Aussies have bled us dry and gone , Kris could captain us whilst we wish we were Celtic Crusaders...

tool
He looks a good prospect. Needs to get a bit of meat on him and improve his defensive decision making but he looks like he has the talent to go further. More experience and with good coaching and a good team around him and I think he will become an outstanding Rovers centre.
WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......

Always look on the bright side of life,
De Do, De Do, De Do, De Do...
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

at last you've seen the light
COME ON U 'ULL

I agree with you 100% regarding the post by Larry Billy, what an absolute load of diabolical rubbish, i have also seen the Smithies and Prohms of this world in their heyday and you have to remember, when the likes of Gary Prohm came over here he was already an established international in his mid twenties, Mike smith was a one off, he was the type of player that only comes along once every generation or so.
Whelam is about 22 years old with his best years ahead of him, he has'nt let anyone down this season and has done very well against some of the best teams in super league, he does however need to strengthen his upper body, something i am sure he will be looking to address during the close season.
I sometimes wonder if some people are watching the same game, or even if they understand it, based on some of their observations and comments
