overall i dont think we were that far away, but we need fuey, moore and mason back, the lack of another hooker with lunt was our main problem for me, it was noticable when lunt came on how much we improved offensively but i dont think that needs much fixing up, still confident we can go all the way after last night. for me the 2 players who struggled again last night in attack were fulton and robinson, we are not the same side without brown, but with fuey hopefully back we still have plenty of options.

Result was a try to saints. Later on in the game the same thing happens to saints and the ref says it went backwards, consitency is required. Im not using this as an excuse as like i said i think saints merit their win. ATEOTD we were not clinical enough, we had the chances and we didnt take em!
Spot on that, nothing to do with the result, but the saints one was even worse, as he dropped the ball after the tackle had been complete, it should have been our ball

Yeah and penalising them for not doing it too. Always the same with Saints.

You thought that during the game. how very interesting
ATEOTD, Hudds had ample oppurtunity to apply pressure and score but they just dropped the ball far too many times. That lack of composure combined with some superb defending on Saints part meant Hudds were never going to win the game, regardless of the referee. Hudds play a risky style of rugby in defence, if you wanna slow down the ruck penalties are gonna come thick and fast. If you get it down to a tee, like you did in the Semi, it's a great tactic, but the risk you take when things are a couple of seconds out is penalty after penalty for persistent offending. You're right, you're not far off and it's only some little things that need fixing. It's better finding that out in this game, rather than a knockout game. Good luck on Friday.

we didnt show up too well did we?
saying that we weren't shown up, saints were just too clever and strong defensively, we made a few errors, especially early on which led to us been 12 points down but i dont think we got a single decision go our way, saints got the benefit of most the big decisions, not that i think they had any impact on the final score but had a few of those dodgy ones gone our way who knows?
poor support from saints tho im sure they'll all turn out for the big games tho

It was a pretty poor showing from Saints fans, but after the Catalans game last week, which is one of the worst Saints performances this year by some margin, and I include our 'trouncing' of Celtic at their place this year and the last game against Hudds, I can hardly blame some for voting with their feet. Hoepefully this slightly improved performance will encourage the speccies to get behind the lads next week, possibly a big derby game too. Hudds speccies turned up in a good number for a change, nice to see.
