there are a few factors which hasn't helped our crowds, mainly friday nights etc hull kr 6,346 castleford 6,010
were both friday night games played in apalling conditions, a regular sunday afternoon game would have seen 7,500 minimum for both games
bradford 7,982 friday night in poor conditions, with no more than 1000 away fans, normally bradford would bring at least 2,000 supporters if that was on a sunday,so i reckon we could have potentially pulled in 9,000 for that also we've had 6 homes games that weren't played on our normal game time of 3pm sundays, how many other clubs can say this?
but, the biggest thing for me is that we finished the regular season above 11 other teamsregardless of how many season tickets we "gave away"
Thanks Meast well that's a good increase from 7820 to 8948 coupled with the lower away following (c25%) compared to the previous season then we have seen a heathy improvement.
I also recall many opposition clubs fans commenting on the fact we have taken far greater numbers than previous seasons too.

thats why i didnt include it, that was a good crowd for a friday night game,i was trying to highlight how friday night games usually have an adverse effect on our crowds

catalan crowds are most impressive this season, they have gone from 5/6 thousand in 06 to close to 10 k in 2009! shows expansionism works, i also think celtics crowds have been pretty good considering the shambles of a ground they have been in this year.

I am merely wondering what will happen now that your season tickets are back to more market levels for next year.
Considering the fact that we clawed our way back up from DIV 1 to SL and have improved our crowds year on year since, also a bleak financial year for a lot of people, it is a great achievement however much the tickets were for the past season.
In fact if Ken Davy could get a 12000 crowd at every home game I am sure he would bring the tickets down to £5 a match.
And how many speccies do you think Saints would have if they had been down in the basement losing more matches than they won. Be thankful you have been near the top of the tree for countless number of years and won many trophies.
If Huddersfield had the same success as Saints over the years, we would be getting far more than Saints are getting.

You shouldnt read into this years stats, as this year the recession as hit most teams, next year with your improving side and the trip to wembley you will see bigger crowds next year thats when you will see how well your doing, the futures bright Like at the wire with the smith revolution:)
Never get too cocky
