Sunday - The Old Angel after the game.....asked for some Ruddles at 99p a pint....they had run out.
Settled for Abbots....bumped into three rather interesting people.....

1)Did you bump into each person separately?
2)Did the Abbots cause you to Bump into them?
3)Did the three individuals find you interesting?

Real ale trek in West Yorkshire last Thursday ...

Dewsbury ...
Kletswater 4.0% (Anglo-Dutch Brewery) in the West Riding Licensed Refreshment Rooms on the Railway Station
(off the train to Hudddersfield at Dewsbury, quick pint and then resume journey).

Huddersfield ...
Excelsior 5.2% (Ossett Brewery) in the Rat and Ratchet - 12 real ales to choose from.
Winkle Picker 4.5% (Whitstable Brewery) and Zeitgeist 4.9% (Brewdog) in the Grove - 18 real ales to choose from.
Barn Owl 4.5% (Cotleigh Brewery) in the Cherry Tree (Wetherspoons).
Welland Valley Mild 3.6% (Great Oakley Brewery) in the Kings Head at Huddersfield Railway Station.
Old Brewery Bitter 3.9% (Samuel Smith) in the Head of Steam at Huddersfield Railway Station.

Holbeck, Leeds ...
Best Bitter 3.9% (Thorne Brewery) in the Grove Inn.
Cock & Hoop 4.3% (Nottingham Brewery) in the Cross Keys.
Midnight Bell 4.8% (Leeds Brewery) in the Midnight Bell.

A great day out and apart from those on Dewsbury and Huddersfield stations, pubs that I had not visited before.

The Rat and Ratchet and Grove in Huddersfield are well worth the effort to check out on the edge of the town centre.

Pint of the day ... the Midnight Bell (but then it is a favourite of mine and a fantastic way to end the day). :)

Settled for a few beers in Donny yesterday afternoon ...

Summer Swallow 3.9% (Batemans) in the Tut & Shive.
Landlord 4.3% (Timothy Taylor) in the Masons.
The Rev. James 4.5% (Brains) in the Red Lion.
Middle Wicket 4.4% (Batemans) in the Gatehouse.
Abbot Ale 5.0% (Greene King) back in the Tut & Shive.

Not a bad pint amongst them. The Middle Wicket deserves a mention as being in the same league as the Rev. James and the Abbot.

Another real ale trek in West Yorkshire yesterday ...

Leeds ...
Midnight Bell 4.8% (Leeds Brewery) in Wetherspoons on Leeds station.

Bradford ...
Best Bitter 4.0% (Timothy Taylor) and two pints of Red Imp 4.2% (Cathedral Ales) in the Fighting Cock.
Cask 3.9% (Mansfield) in the Castle Hotel.
Sovereign Bitter 4.1% (Samuel Smith) in the Shoulder Of Mutton.

Leeds ...
Gunpowder 3.8% (Coach House Brewing Company) in the Scarbrough Hotel.

We also visited the Cock & Bottle in Bradford which is one to avoid as it no longer has real ales available.

Pint of the day ... the Red Imp was a real find.
