That's really a subset of the tokenist approach to playing your homegrown players in the first team, though. Justin said he would be bringing in plenty of fresh faces this week. Spaven or I'Anson in there? Watts and Esders aren't at the club at the moment, are they?

As a point of pedantry, isn't your gripe that we don't have a tokenist approach to playing club-trained players? Including a player who is not one our best 17, simply because he is club-trained would be tokenism. Taken too far it can be short-termist, but teams still need to be picked on merit, irrespective of quotas, IMO. One day we'll have an injury crisis, play our kids, and you'll be able to focus all your attention on our accounts. And possibly that we are losing because our squad lacks experience and depth

You are right. I meant that including Spaven, Esders, Watts (and presumably Taylor?) is tokenist as they have only played 1 SL game between them this season. Apologies. Are Esders and Watts actually at the club at the moment?

Accepted
I only argue with you because you are worth arguing with.
Esders loan deal won't have ended yet, not sure about Watts. As it has turned out, Esders has just been making up the numbers, which is a bit disappointing. Happens though - Menzies last year and perhaps Maloney for Hull FC, this(?). Watts, Spaven and Taylor are still developing; the first's form has been ordinary from what I hear on here and the other two are maybe not ready for their debuts yet, in JM's opinion. With 4th looking secure, I'd maybe rest one or two senior players for one or two games and give them a chance - but my opinion counts for nowt, of course.

No. Esders has been allowed to go out on-loan due to Newton & Galea's form and Watts needs time at another club to "re-focus".
Why do you ask? Is it because both players would improve your squad?
