Just got back, soaked to the skin, a bad day at the office as they say. Difficult conditions for both sides and the ref ( he made a couple of iffy decisions for both sides)

Cas had a greater desire than us and deserved the win, big raps for the Cas support as well.

Lets get back on track at Salford on Friday.

The way i saw it:

Poor conditions: we stuck to our gameplan and never threw any silly passes out.

Atkins never passed it when the winger was free twice i believe ?

You tried too much warm weather rugby and tried to play attractive football in conditions that you cannot afford to play like that.

You gave away too many penalties and lucky for us unlike Wellens last week Westy had his kicking boots on.

I think a lot of you have hit the nailed on the end. It wasn't won or lost on individual brilliance, more individual errors. The conditions really restricted both sides. I'm sure some of Broughy's passing would have been better had it been dry.

I have to laugh at a minority blaming the ref. He was fairly average for both sides; we got a scant ten metres at times too and a few head shots went unpenalised.

More then anything today the performance really disappointed me. The result not so much. One team has to lose and I can accept that. However, that must have been the second poorest performance of the season (Huddersfield at home been the worst).

Trinity quite literary did not turn up. 1 -17 just looked so flat and discipline was terrible. Decision making awful and school errors a plenty. Yes you can make allowances for the conditions but what I saw today was beyond that. It’s almost as if the players thought that because they beat Saints last week all they had to do was turn up. There seemed zero concentration leading to stupid mistakes. Cas were also poor but seemed that little bit more hungrier then Wakefield in both attack and defence.

As bad as they played, they still could’ve won the match, two bombed chances (nailed on had Moore not gone for glory) would seen them undeservedly take the two points. One things for sure, both teams will need to improve 10 fold if they want to stay and compete in the playoffs.

at the end of the day even the best teams play turd inexplicably after playing well in previous weeks. it happens, we need to put it into context of a decent few weeks and some good results
