As I understand it, America's going to be re-branded as simply ESPN and carry both the new stuff, football mainly, as well as the American stuff. I'd imagine that would mean a reduction in 'non-live' American coverage, afternoon repeats of last night's game, etc, but they'll still be able to cover most of it live, seeing as it's through the night UK time.
As for Classic, I think that's staying the same as it is.

That'll do for me, given it's part of my Sky subscription at the minute. I could just see Sky/ESPN setting up a brand new subscription sport channel and sticking on there just to try to bilk a few extra quid out of subscribers.

Ah, in that case prepare to be disappointed. I think it's going back to a standalone package, outside any existing Sky deal. £9 a month I think I've heard.

In which case, it won't be getting my money. £9 a month to watch probably one or two Celtic games on TV doesn't represent VFM to me. Shame really, as the NHL stuff they have on ESPN America would have been good to watch through the winter.

Anyone know how the payment will be made direct to ESPN as Setanta was or added to a Sky Direct Debit????

They should call the new ESPN channel ESPN Soccer after this announcement http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcastin ... ights.html. US sports fans have been shafted by ESPN.With all the live 'soccer' there won't be any room for more than a couple of American sports games a week. It'll be worse than channel 5 used to be.

So this actually means that we won't be screwed for more money per month and that this will be part of my current Sky HD subscription cost??
