Now if i choose not to buy into this scheme, but lets just say enough new and old do to fill the east stand, phases 1 and 2 allows for club rovers members to buy the season pass before me.Therefore, theoretically, a welcome new fan who has never been to rovers before could infact be standing in my place in the east stand for the forseable future.
Correct and according to GML this is a respectful way of treating fans.
Having said that if you can afford to paying the £60+ pass before the end of september you're better of doing that as you'll end up paying even more
RoversTrace wrote:So taking all that into account, if you're not going to join 'the club' there's not much point in having a season pass. I seriously think this is going to backfire on Rovers.
I think you're in a tiny minority Trace. Looks like most fans are going to be joining so will make it even worse for those that don't

Oh believe me I know that, but I feel as if you are being forced into signing up or risk losing your spot in the East Stand or whatever. I don't have a spare £90 so I'm going to have to take that risk.
I may be in the minority, but I am not alone, I have spoken to others who aren't joining either.

Knock yourself a few more keyrings up, you'll be reet
Serious note.....Are you FC in disguise?
Shocking IMO.
I'm gonna spit all over you, by accident of course.

How very dare you, that's just taking things too far
I just like to think I'm realistic and don't wear my red and white specs all the time. I'm not joining this scheme, to all those that are, good luck to you, it's down to personal choice and circumstances.

I was alluding more to the scheme and treatment of fans....but if the cap fits
I'm gonna spit all over you, by accident of course.

It's a sleight of hand that david blane would be proud. of. Hats off to them. Are they doing it now to try and use the feel good factor before your season fizzles out or it it just they're desperate for the cash?
The passes were £220 ish this year, its just that if you bought them early (in the first discounted period) you got one for £180 and that price was frozen from 2008.
Don't get me wrong, it is an increase and a discount we got for nothing last year, we now have to pay for. However, you would expect between 2008 and 2011 pass prices would increase, but assuming they stay at £220 thats £84 saving for a £60 outlay plus the other advantages and discounts the membership brings.

If you have to pay for a discount its not really a discount is it?

That is what I said. To me the membership is a roundabout way of putting pass prices up a bit each year and offsetting it with a saving and some other advantages. It also nets the club some money they obviously need. It's clever on the club's part, but I wouldn't say it's a rip-off for the fans either.
