When all said and done, Myler has turned down their current offer, who knows if an improved offer may be forthcoming? It is the first stage of negotiations afterall.
Tommy can't understand the number 7 role so god knows how he can teach a player (Myler) who is already streets ahead of him.
Sams not a teenager and Myler is ahead of his years.
Anasta is a 6 or 23 and not that good.
Lockyer/Orford too expensive for someone of their age, and they've both stated they wanna end their playing days at their clubs.

Now it looks like Offiah's star man is going to that 'small club' over ours.
There could be many reasons why that would happen, not least the reason that Wigan don't want him.

That's true Wigan might never have expressed an interest, I just hope that doesn't come back to bite us later on, plus if we haven't put a bid in for him it'll be interesting to see who does come in at halfback, hopefully not some second rate Aussie.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.
Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds
Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!
Myler played two games againts us and was average at best.
He played for England and was brilliant.
The difference perhaps that the Salford pack was well beaten and the England pack steamrollered the French forwards.
The first job is to get a pack that will dominate and win games up front. When we have a pack who can do that then we can talk about half backs to bring in. Until then go with what we've got as the pack and prop forwards are the priority.
This has been the case now for 3 seasons plus, so where are they?
Fielden in 2006, Coley 2008 and that's it.
Everything come from the power of the front row. Fans know it, Noble knows it but IL doesn't appear to.
Until IL resolves the prop problem we are going nowhere except backwards.

World class is world class. The pack isn't everything, we just play a style that overuses our weak points (props, driving down the middle).

Agree with both points to an extent.
We do need to strenghen the front row without doubt but to the point of ignoring a weakness at halfback? no imo.
We are weak upfront but if Lenagan decides to go out and get 2 class props and no halfback to guide us around the field we'll not achieve anything imo. We may go slightly better then this year but would just be papering over the cracks when it comes to our lack of an onfield general.
We need 1 class prop and 1 class organising halfback imo aswell as a coach that will back form players.

Its a combination of both backs and forwards that make a team you can't just try and get a huge pack and then win by a few points we need both great backs and forwards, we are just failing at trying to get the balence.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

As bad as we are at the minute i think people know the playing staff isn't that far off in terms of quality of actually achieveing something. Maybe thats what makes this seasons form even more frustrating because it blatant it's an attitude problem thats holding us back.
For next season we must see-
A highly respected coach who can motivate a tempremental group of players
A quality halfback with a good kicking game
A quality prop who's a leader that the players will look up to
If we could get those 3 people we'll be a force to be reckoned with.
