Even when we made the playoffs, the season after should of been a big push! Splash extra cash and bring some quality in. Did we? Was enough done by management to take us up a level? Not enough money is spent by this club in order for us to step up a level! Is enough done by the club to find more backers or investment?

If we dont have the money we dont have the money, better having a salford than winning a challege cup and combusting infront of our very eyes like sheffield eagles did all them years ago, we all look back at that and say its a massive low low point in being a salford fan but would anyone swap places with them?.

Without the board we'd have been a swinton or a oldham a long time ago, hopefully we have enough money in the pot to secure the services of our top players for the future.
With the new stadium on coming (hopefully) it will give our players a stage to perform on.

If you can introduce circa 7k new paying fans to the club, perhaps we'll be able to spend a little more on players etc
If you can't sort this simple task, probably advisable to keep schtum

Ahhh, so we just need to spend more money? So simple. What could possibly go wrong?

1. Do you really think the directors make profit from the club?

2. At the start of the 2007 season, with Dorn and Korkidas (and probably others that I forget) added to the 5th place team, nobody was complaining about us not strengthening.

Naturally, hence the substantial queue of shrewd business tycoons chomping at the Willows doorstep for a slice of the action. Fat chance of that though with the selfish, pocket-lining bunch we have in place at the mo'. The answer's clear: SPEND, SPEND, SPEND!

You're right. JW and the rest of them don't put anywhere near enough money into this club. No way have they put a fortune into this club over the years. And they're certainly not looking enough for more backers nor investment. After all, everyone's queueing up to pump cash into the club.

I really love how unrealistic some people are. We're no Saints and we're no Leeds. Unless we start pulling in large crowds we're not going to have the money to keep players here. That's not due to a lack of ambition on our part, it's down to players going where the money is - or where they think success will be.

Dummy spitting in the manner we've seen on here over the last few weeks isn't going to help matters.

It's obvious on here that JW is a saint and can do no wrong. Some of you lot need to put your toys back in the pram! Not one of you answered any of the questions i ask, Do you think all the money raised from the sale of myler will go on players or just some of it? Did the club do enough the season after we made the playoffs to take us up a level?

And as for me finding another 7000 fans, i'm sure someone is getting paid quite a bit of money at salford trying to do that job! Is it working? £17 to get in for starters is wrong! Thats not just us but every other ground as well! £10 for concession i think, thats too much! I Know of a lot of people who dont go because it cost too much to get in to watch us usually get beat! That takes me back to my first post, we made the play offs, our attendances were slighty better that season, if we'd had spent a bit of extra cash for decent players, won more games probably, not been in a relegation battle all season, maybe crowds would of increased again!

at the end of this season players leaving the club include myler, turner, wilshere, stapleton, fitzpatrick, paul, possibly alker, ratchford, yes jw has served the club well and got us to the point we now find our selves at -willows sold, no news on the new ground -squad cant wait for the season to end, simms ready to splash the cash in oz on the recommendation of millward, mccrae no say on new signings and the crowds will start to tale off even more towards the end of the season when there is nothing to play for.new money will not come into the club while jw is chairman FACT, maybe its time for jw to move himself in to a lifelong role at the club but not involved in decision making or financially and then give somebody else a chance.one thing to think about whoever owns the willows now isn't going to wait forever for the new ground to be built they will want a return on their investment

No one has said that.

Can I submit that to the OED to go under their definition of irony?

Quote:Not one of you answered any of the questions i ask, Do you think all the money raised from the sale of myler will go on players or just some of it? Did the club do enough the season after we made the playoffs to take us up a level?

1) The players have to want to come to Salford. We can't just go "right, we've got some cash in the bank, let's go out and buy x, y and z." The world doesn't work like that, despite your protestations.

2) The club did strengthen, that point has been made. Tell me, do you really think that poor season was down to the board? Or do you think it was down to Harrison losing the dressing room and certain players not putting 100% into their performances because they didn't give a sh*t about the club?

Quote:And as for me finding another 7000 fans, i'm sure someone is getting paid quite a bit of money at salford trying to do that job! Is it working? £17 to get in for starters is wrong! So it's the clubs' fault for charging £17 when every other club in the league charges around the same amount, some of them more? It's also the clubs' fault that people don't wish to turn up and watch us because we lose, is it? Or is it the fault of those people for not having the loyalty to stick by the club during hard times in the hope that we can improve? If these friends of yours turned up regularly then we'd have higher attendances, more money coming in and, guess what? We might just be able to spend a bit more money and show a little more ambition to players we do go after.

The club have done quite a bit to get more people in. The Golden Angel tickets, which didn't get people back in as they only went because it was free. Is that the clubs' fault? No, it's down to the people who will only 'support' their local RL side when there's an incentive to do so, i.e. it costs them nothing. There's plenty of advertising around and about, the club partakes in community work... What else do you suggest? If the people of Salford don't want to turn up and support the club then there's not much they can do.

For your last point, I go back to my point earlier. If people turned up for something other than 'glory' then we might just be able to spend more money on players. That is, of course, if we can attract them in the first place.

Of course, if you think you can solve the clubs' problems yourself, you could apply for a job.

I've just seen tyson's post above, as well. There's probably many business reasons why the club can't inform us more on the stadium's progress. It's general practice - FC United's board can't tell anyone, not even the club's members (who own the club) where it's likely to be, where we're up to with discussions and so on. It's a fact of life - we've just got to be patient.

And as for your comment that money won't come in whilst JW is Chairman... Who else is out there willing to come in and pump money in? How do you think we could get anymore money in with current crowds and a local population who don't really seem to care enough about the Club to turn up and support it?

Of course - if any of you naysayers do have any real solutions, I'm sure we'd all be willing to sit down and listen.

How do Wakefield and Harlequins manage to keep their young players and in fact in Wakefields case bring in Britishor foreign quality replacements if a player does leave.
All we seem to do is get second rate Ozzies .Then when we have the best crop of youngsters I have seen at the club for years we are about to possibly lose them .
Something does not add up here and I for one would like answers.

BTW I mention the two other clubs as they get similar crowds to ourselves (Harlequins even less)
