Rich Beaumont is now training full time I'm told and is coming on very well in the front row.

Hooker is the area we need to improve on drastically and is a position us Brits dont master easily. Buderus and Berrigan are top draw signings for their respective clubs and we should be looking for someone around that quality to replace Fitzy/Fish.

With Frankie Mariano coming along nicely I think Craig Hall would find himself further down the pecking order. Welham and Mariano in the centres in the next few years will be good to see with Liam Welham possibly being trained up as a winger or the replacement centre? If we did sign Hall he'd be a winger IMO, got a good step and plenty of speed however with Fox and Colbon I think we're doing pretty well on the wings as it is.

If he gets the chance then say hello to a Jamie Bovil type career. If he wants to progress as a Super League player he's better staying put or at least till the new franchise is announced then go play for the new team coming up.

If a player is to progress the current state of reserve grade isn't the place to be. If he ain't ready for SL then NL will bring him on of that there is no doubt.

Jon Fallon was going stale in Rovers reserves side earning £50 a week and got nothing in the way of first team seeing several players brought in to play in front of him.

Goes to Championship, has alrerady earnt Thousands and has had two Super League Clubs enquring as to the length of his contract and availablility after that.

The reserve comps are pointless and full of kids who can do much better elsewhere.

They are not a shop window, they are a waste of time.

Simple plan really, feck the Aussies off, feck the reserves off, use the Championships to play fringe players, use the newly formed under 20's comp for youngsters and use the NCL for fringe Championship players.
