I had a feeling this may happen, as giving your all in a game, being in the ascendancy and generally in control, only to lose must not only have you scratching you head but have you questioning your abilities, and therefore eroding some of your confidence.
I can see where your coming from with that.
I think it's a combination of the shattered confidence you suggest and a physical 'hangover', in that it is very hard to push your body to
that limit on consecutive weeks.
As Sally said, if you fully believe in yourself, it probably has a lesser effect on the confidence, but if you give everything you have and lose, you do question "How do we win, then?"
The trouble comes when you've lost two on the bounce and you really begin to question if you have what it takes to kill a game off. If it gets to three or four, it can be difficult to climb out of a rut.
