Does it really matter if it was forward or not? The ref never gave a forward pass he gave a try.
It was a great try to be fair, probably the best i have seen this season (well not likely to see and free scoring tries at the KC am i)

A referee doesn't tend to look at the path of the ball they tend to look at the passers hands as it is a better indicator of a forward pass than the trajectory of the ball itself. As many have said a ball at speed will obviously travel forward.

Just shown a replay on Look North and it actually shows Dobson passing the ball BACKWARDS, no hint of forward at all.

Hated the result but what a brilliant game! Best I've seen in ages in NRL or SL.

Had everything that makes RL so special. great tries, great hits, electric atmosphere and game decided at the death.

What a great advert for the game to put on the Beeb. If we had alot more like that the Beeb would be falling over themselves to show RL

I was watching the game in Germany after watching the FA Cup with some work colleagues, 2 english football fans, 2 germans, 2 nigerians and a yank. when they saw me jumping up and down (none of them were exactly sure what i was watching...) they all came over to have a look. all impressed by the skill of the try continued to watch the game.

shame about the result but the tension (and their endless amusment watching my reactions) meant they thoroughly enjoyed what proved to be quite a spectacle and an excellend advert for rugby league.

And dobson was travelling forward at a greater speed.
As has been stated before go and check Newtons motion laws mate.

first of all pal!! im typing not talking!! and second dobson is well behind the forty when the ball leaves his hands and webster takes it just after the forty line. the bloke is stretching for the ball.

the ball goes forward. dobsons' hands are pointing forward.

The try by Webster was great and so was the one by Clarke, wouldn't like to see them chalked off.

However the linos do seem to miss a lot of genuine forward passes
