He reckoned that FC coaches are very disappointed with Thorman & that the hammering at Leeds finally made the board decide to get their hands in their pockets for next seson. He reckons there will be a big clearout for next seson.
FC are also very close to a deal for Andy Lynch of Bradford.
BTW Matt Orford will not be coming as he wants too much money (£165,000 per season)
Aw you ruined it for me with your last line. I was seriously considering buying your story until you mentioned Orfords wage demands which then blew your stories credibility right out the water. Orford wants and has been offered a hell of a lot more than that by Hull FC never mind other clubs who shall we say arent so carefull with their purse strings !!!
I'm in two minds over Long. One, he's a proven scrum-half (something we've lacked) and can create opportunities, has a good kicking game and will be a damn sight better than what we've been used to. But, he struggles with injuries, is easily targeted in games, and his goal-kicking is very sporadic. If we keep him away from goal-kicking duties and protect him from too much defensive work, he could be a good signing.

And as for Lynch... yes please!
he would be a good signing for this season to help out, but once again for me if we signed him for next season id be very dissapointed!!!
We need to be looking to replace Carvell. Lynch is Dowes with an offload.
Regarding Sean Long id be very wary especially about offering him any more than a one year deal. Even Orford at his age should be a short term stop gap.
We need someone younger that we could tie up on a deal for a few years to help bring on the young talent in the club.
As i've said before its no coincidence that we have signed back to back world class Hookers and we now have a conveyor belt of talent in that position.

Would have thought that would be the lowest mark for a top earner at a club. Speculate to accumulate - something our Board know very little about!
