i cannot understand why people are moaning about fans that are turning up for the wigan game ,we are all there to support our team and we are all from salford , so what if fans are going that usually watch man united , they might even like our great game ,plus they might return surely that would be good for the attendances for the rest of the season, lets not call or slag these fans off as they are there to watch the same team as you and me as long as we all behave and get behind our team with some real vocal force thats all that matters ,i am sure our team will not let us down
heres hoping we turn the pie-eaters over and get the same result as 96

KEEP THE FAITH
It's not the fact that there's more people there to follow the team, it's the idiots that come with it.
I remember when we got to the playoffs against Bradford and there was some disgraceful behaviour that day. One guy threatened to smash a bottle in a fellow fan's face (think it was even an OAP who he threatened if I remember rightly) because he asked him to calm down because he was screaming and swearing like a psycho non-stop because we were getting battered. And then there was the racist chants by a number of people outside the ground aftwerwards.
It was the club's biggest game in a while and it attracted a large number of d1ckheads.
Let's hope that on Friday people are there to watch the game and support the team rather than cause trouble.

Adamjk's got it spot on. It's not necessarily that people have never been to the rugby before, we've all had to start somewhere. It's not the fact that people who usually just support United might come down - I'm a United fan myself. It's the fact that the potential for people only interested in acting up, causing a scene and 'making a name for themselves' could turn up and ruin it for the rest of us.
In fact, the idiots running around causing trouble at Batley were Salford fans. Some turn up regularly, others come only when they feel like it. The problem is, despite being Salford 'supporters', they're also known for acting up. It's that kind of 'supporter' that worries me, not just a few casual supporters turning up to see the game.
And although some maybe bellends, maybe everyone doesnt want to go to a match with no atmosphere and being looked down upon from people who do there talkin from behind a keyboard

Who said I wanted to go to a match with no atmosphere? Are you suggesting that I want everyone to just sit there in silence based on the fact that I'm worried about the bellend count on Friday?
And anyway, the atmosphere's often better when there's only a handful of you there. Which blows that theory out of the water even more.
I'm baffled by the way in which some people's minds work, I really am.

well said , this is where the people of salford must really turn out in force and get behind our team and cheer them on to victory , we must make the pie-dome feel like the willows and every supporter must try and take a mate or two and fill the away end,we can all make the differance with our suppport , we really can be the extra man , lets hope we repeat the spirit of 96 , i know the lads will not let us down
Wasnt actually pinpoiting you but since you replied Im all for the more the merrier if some want to act like d!cks let them their choice. Just dont see where certain sections of the crowd, usually the ones who tell people not to clap during songs eg salford reds arising dont clap until weve sang our first chorus like a choir, get off thinking there all high and mighty above everyone else in the shed .
