See you there!
Will be better if we continue our form we shall silence you rovers fans though.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

could be a classic!
Your the wan*er with the drum! Love that chant, makes me giggle.

I must admit I haven't travelled to many away matches for about 20 years but the chance of Rovers being top of the league on Friday night means that it's a match I can't miss- has anyone looked in the history books to note the last time we topped the league - probably not since we were champs in 1985 I'm guessing but perhaps I'm mistaken? I'm looking forward to my first visit to the JJB (or is the the Dave Whelan stadium now?)- where's the place to park?
I too have always had a soft-spot for Wigan fans ..... how many remember that Charity Shield weekend in the Isle of Man (was that 1985?)? It was a good weekend- I guess that Rovers were at their peak then (before a rapid decline) and Wigan were an emerging force.
My gut instinct says that as a team we have some great individuals but there are still enough technical deficiencies in certain players (positional sense and tackling technique in particular) that means we won't maintain 2nd spot (or higher!) but the effort and commitment are excellent and that counts for a heck of a lot in the big matches.
It's a great achievement to be where we currently are - onwards and upwards!
That big long (oh look at me i've supported them since i was a nipper) and you make such an error! can't be that much of a fan to forget going top in our first SL season can we..

i'm one rovers fan who doesnt bang on about away support. I've been to rovers when we've had 2,000-3,000 at a home game nevermind away.

We were the Rovers fans wearing the grass hula skirts and had a huge George cross flag with Hull Kingston Rovers emroidered accross the middle, boy what a weekend!!, does anyone remember that huge disco with a dance floor which apparently was the size of a football pitch, the noise in there that night with all the Wigan and KR fans singing was something i shall remember for ever.
Strange this should come up, as I was clearing out a cupboard the other night I found some photos we took that weekend, remember some of our (Wigan) fans 'holding up' one of those horse drawn trams on the seafront whilst wearing Dick Turpin masks shouting " stand and deliver " at the driver, it never stopped raining and they were selling plastic 'pacamac's' outside the ground, half the crowd looked like giant condoms. The night club was bouncing and both sets of fans got on really well, great weekend and it left me with 'soft spot' for Rovers since then, safe journey down on Friday, should be a great game.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.......
I will look to the moment, and miraculously, the future will take care of itself.

It will be a cracker looking forward to it have a safe trip over guys and gals
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
