Because, the facts are:
- Ben Cockayne committed a serious crime, but has since been punished by the courts in a manner
they feel fits the crime (which at the end of the day is all that matters really)
- Rovers have since punished him in a manner they feel is appropriate
That, therefore should be the end of the matter. But no, the HDM have to sensationalise it with CCTV clips, headline banners, two interviews with the victim (which again IMO they didn't need to do), and constant little digs at Cockayne and the club. The way they talk in paper it's clear that they feel they have a right to constant information, co-operation etc from the club, which I don't feel they do.
Bottom line is they're a s****y little rag who actually only care about one team in Hull (and it isn't either RL team unfortunately), and who IMO have treated both RL teams like crap for years, and so deserve nothing in return.
The Cockayne 'saga' is none of their business really - it was a crime on a person not from the city, and did not happen in the city, but they (as with the Raynor case and others) feel they 'have to' make it their business. They then b***h when any club doesn't fully cooperate with them, but I don't blame any club, and if I was Hull/Rovers I'd cut ties with them - neither club needs their 'publicity' (especially when it's negative so often) these days anyway.
Sorry for the rant.
