I'd guess there hasn't been a bigger fall from grace outside of that 20 years either tbh.
Prince Naseem or Mike Tyson probably come close.
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.
Richards - Looked a bit off the pace, forgivable though considering he's probably playing injured behind a weak defensive line and is usually Mr Consistant. His drop outs helped us out a lot, shame about his goal kicks.
Roberts - Thought they defended well against him, they left enough room to defend the middle and make us pass it out wide then slid the line to push him in touch or make him run inside. He looked decent, just got shut down.
Gleeson - Settling in, if the team were playing better he would be too, nice to see him grab a try though.
Pryce - Wants a rocket up his backside, not a player to throw into a team with low morale. He shouldn't have got a game ahead of Phelps anyway. Having said that I can see the talent. It's just frustrating that he doesn't use it, can you imagine Ainscough's heart in his body? Frightening.
Ainscough - Always gives it everything he's got. His kick defence still looks a bit suspect but he'll work on it, also nice to see him score as usual. Guys like Fielden and Pryce should be embarrassed when they see this lad.
Sam - Didn't take the line on as much as you'd like but he's bound not too when the forwards are giving him sod all momentum. He still put in a ton of effort and you could see how gutted he was with the team's performance when he scored his try.
Leuluai - Great footwork, nice to see him boot a 40/20. However, a fairly quiet game by his usual standards, again unsuprising given the lack of forward momentum.
Fielden - Has been rubbish all season, he runs up then dies at the feet of the defence. The more Noble plays him the more people will focus on him and get on his back, meaning his confidence will plummet further and further. The one thing he does is get stuck in defence, but I don't want a prop who just tackles, he needs to make yards, and he needs to remember how to do that in the reserves.
Riddell - Decent, he tends to play well when the side does though, I think this links in with the forward problem as he always pops up when we have momentum.
Coley - Gets the dubious award of being our best prop tonight, showed that a no thrills prop can still do the job better than the big names. Mind I think it just shows how bad our forwards are that he's the best.
Hansen - Got through some work in defense but got knackered with the rest of them and leaky defense ensued, he doesn't seem to do that much in attack anymore but still work his spot for his defense.
Bailey - Very average, he gets through tackles like Hansen but he's slow and offers nothing in attack, we should definitely not have him on at the same time as hitman or we give too much work to the props in attack, and they can't handle it.
O'Loughlin - Some good touches in attack and very good in defense, but got knackered with the rest, and still doesn't look like a captain.
Joel - Fairly quiet game, looked knackered and took a knock to the head and didn't return IIRC.
Paleaaesina - Another quiet game from a player who looked knackered, plus Guisset had him in his pocket bar one drive.
McIllorum - Decent game from him always makes the effort in defense and his attack's ok too.
Prescott - Quiet game, didn't really do much to help the cause, would probably be dropped if Fielden was his old self and O'Carroll wasn't injured. We don't have anyone to step up to the mark though.

However, a back line next week considering everyone is fit -
Richards Roberts Carmont Gleeson Ainscough Phelps S Tomkins
would do me, with Tommy starting at 9.
I have always said I would like to see stability from now on in the halves and backs meaning for the rest of the season I would like to see,
Richards
Roberts
Carmont
Gleeson
Ainscough
Sam
Tommy
BUT
Phelps was brilliant attacking against Stains so I think he deserves a chance at 6 and Tommy has the potential to be a world class 9. Maybe he could play the full 80 leaving room an extra forward on the bench? maybe even Smith(it has got that bad)?
