Didn't we once do the line behind the scrum thing?, was it as Murrayfield under Murray?

As every game down there has the video ref it's unlikely to bear fruit, especially when the obstruction was so blatant as Canberra overplayed the move. Over here especially in a non televised game (with a Ganson in charge) it could be a winner.

At first viewing it was difficult to appreciate how it opened up so easily but it all became obvious (all too obvious) from behind the sticks.

David Furner's assistant at Canberra? One Ian Millward.

Surely the break could be made and the attacking player makes sure he gets caught just before the line. The defence will be in turmoil and the VR cannot go back to previous plays.

As a variation on the theme, I always wondered whether we'd get away with Rob Burrow diving through Wayne Macdonald's legs on the goal line to score a sneaky try?

Don't worry over what other people are thinking about you. They're too busy worrying over what you are thinking about them.

As I said Canberra did way more than was neccessary to clear the path. Because of that it was never going to stand (and cost Canberra an attacking set in return for a defensive set) but if your forwards were a tad more subtle with the push through it could be a winner.

It was great to see someone thinking about how to introduce a base of the scrum move.
