Ahh right , so what your saying is we've all been dealt a dodgy hand

They can let Toulouse in even if they dont qualify in the same way as an English club

English club need to qualify [ contest GF or win MRC ] but that doesn't apply to Toulouse

Sneaky , I like it

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

You are right. It is sneaky. And I am very glad that you like it, because I like it too.

I am planning to invest in a property in southern France, so I need a guarantee of at least one Super League home game in southern France each week to justify my investment.

The main thing that makes me happy about this is the take over and an actual experienced board (it's the first time we've not been run by one man for a very long time). We need stability

As for the Super League ambitions...I can understand why they feel they have to say it but there's going to have to be one hell of an improvement curve up to that point

in case you arent aware SL has gone to a franchising process whereby clubs have to apply for spots every time it happens.

in 2012 cas will be applying for a SL license again as well.

I would still prefer Sheffield to Doncaster, because it is a bigger city, has a lot of prestige associated with its size, and is potentially more likely to be able to find more rich sponsors.

Doncaster on the other hand is on major train and bus routes, and has a stadium almost ready for Super League, and a new board that seems keen to progress. Of course the club will have to perform on the pitch as well, and at the moment Sheffield is doing much better there than Doncaster. Early days yet. Rest assured both Doncaster and Sheffield are not going to get the nod for Super League in the same year.

Either club getting promoted, along with Toulouse, will be an improvement over the current west Yorkshire small town club saturation, if its ascension to Super League is at the expense of a weak west Yorkshire club, especially Wakefield.

What will be the basis of the application, the stadium. I doubt the people of Donny will support in sufficient numbers. If there is any additions in 2012 I think Widnes and/or a second French club would be prefrable.
