winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
Luke Bailey, Andy Lynch would be my first 2 prop options. Petero would be fantastic on the field and as a leader but we would get 2 years at most out of him and he would also take up a big chunk of the cap.
Soliola, Ropati and Reddy stand out as possible centres. Soliola being the ideal, he would be good for Amos especially having already played with him at the Roosters. Ropati is good but when you have Manu Vatuvei as your winger its hard not to look good. Not seen that much of Reddy to really comment. Would he be worth a pop? Played on the wing so far this season for the Eels but he can play centre can't he?
I can see Tommy staying at 7 for at least one more season. Very unlikely we'll get Dobson this season and nobody else stands out and I agree that we need a stable half back partnership. I wouldn't be complaining if we got Lockyer or Orford to allow Tommy to move to 9 and wait for Dobson

There only Aussie options apart from Lynch though
Why would getting 2 years out of him be a problem? I cannot understand why signing a Prop for 2 years would really be an issue.

If we get him for 2 years we will possibly lose 3 props in 2 seasons (Feka, Fielden, Petero)
When he goes in 2 years we would also have a handful to replace him and all he adds to the squad as well as replacing other props and other positions
His salary would be another issue for me as well
BUT with our recent recruitment record I wouldn't be upset if we signed him
There are certain positions where i would not look to sign players for less than 3 years Prop is not one of them. Feka still has a good few years in him, not sure how old he is but expect him to have 4 years after this maybe 5. We also have Prescott and O'Carroll for continuity purposes, not that i think it is too crucial to have continuity up front.
If a player like Petro who has everything we need and is still a world class forward with plenty left in the tank in the NRL never mind SL i would be very concerned if he was not a top target, wages may be an issue I agree but you have to pay for quality and that is what you will get with Petro. A world class fearsome opponent who the minute he walks on the field commands respect, we have not had a player like that at Wigan in god knows how long upfront it was Pongia and Smith then Faz. Its something we have dearly missed and something i do not think Lynch brings to the table regardless of his other qualities.

Your slowly bringing me round to the idea
Would still take Luke Bailey over him due to age and less wage

Quality player at both wing and centre. He's strong, fast and good under the high ball.
