It seems as though some Wakefield fans have a higher opinion of Bird than the Dragons fans do if their board is anything to go by.I personally thought he was one of their better players yesterday, and would benefit from a better team round him, still enjoyed seeing him get mullered a couple of times though.

If this were the Cas forum (god bless them) they would be waxing lyrical about their great team full of young home grown players blah blah and already be booking their tickets (unrealistically) for Old Trafford. They know how to support a winning team, they may be as fickle as us when they are losing but they know how to enjoy it when it goes well.
If this were Cas, and Westerman was playing like Fergy there would be a 20 page thread (mainly b*llocks) whilst Bird would have two lines on an O/T thread.
We need to stop being so dour and just enjoy for a change - it's not like start of seasons with 4 from 6 are the norm. Remember this is the team that got us to within a kick or two of Wembley last year and deserve far more respect than the pundits gave us at the start of the season so if we don't bull them up who will and I know TRB feels the same on that point.
Odd one this thread as I don't think Bigal ever intended it to be serious - bad bad Al!
No i did not but its created debate and it's better than the pork pie /curry thread

completely agree. didn't pick him out at first cos was expecting a more diminutive figure not someone so rotund. thought he was a half back?
he showed some real class with ball in hand and he looks difficult to bring down. as has been said already i reckon he'll end up being a top SL player in time if he sticks around

He is much more suited to the backrow, either a ball handling secondrow/loose. He played 6 in Australia at a time when Cronulla had no specialist 6 and was excellent, hence why he was selected as a 6 for Australia.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Take no notice of the knackers written by some posters - I think somobody should bookmark this thread and we can come back to it in a couple of weeks when the guy has some proper preperation. Back row would be best for him based on yesterday, but even out of condition and just off a plain he didnt look out of place at 6 before he started blowing.
We put this festival on you b*st*rds
With a lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy us
Well you go to hell

I thought that would have been fairly obvious - to see how much of an impact on the league the guy has when he has had:
- Not just stepped off a plane after flying from the other side of the world
- Had time to train at length with his new team
- More than a handfull of minutes on the field in the last however many months.
Some posters are likely to have fair amounts of egg on their faces - because from what I saw there is every chance this guy will be a star. As somebody previously mentioned it would appear that some posters are so used to watching mediocracy that they struggle to identify class when they see it.

No it's not knackers big man - it's opinion oh smug one.
The issue is why should we care he plays for Catalan, he has one maybe three more chances to influence our season big deal.
You want to have a love in with Bird and Catalan fine go ahead, but some of us were less impressed or bothered. If that's knackers then you strike me as the sort who has spouted a bit in your time
