Quote:And the Yorkshire Evening Post believes Wigan Warriors are considering a swoop for Leuluai if he fails to agree terms with Rhinos.
Smith scored tries in Rhinos' 2007 and 2008 Grand Final wins over St Helens and won the Harry Sunderland man-of-the-match award last year.
Leuluai, cousin of Wigan half-back/hooker Thomas Leuluai, scored the opening try in Rhinos' 34-10 win over Warriors three days ago and is another back-to-back Grand Final winner.
Hetherington declined to comment on whether Leeds have opened talks with either man, saying only: "When players come out of contract, they are free to do what they want."

He is a player i rate, but i do think there would be better options out there who will be available if they are to be using a quota spot. Assuming of course non of these players have any court rulings against there names.

Brisbane Broncos withdraw contract offer to Karmichael Hunt
BRISBANE still remain hopeful of retaining star fullback Karmichael Hunt despite playing hard-ball by withdrawing their contract offer late today.
The Broncos stuck by their round one deadline for the offer, believed to more than $1 million over three years, when Hunt failed to respond at the weekend.
Chief executive Bruno Cullen insisted the Broncos were comfortable with the offer tabled early this year but were unable to continue waiting for Hunt to pursue other options, including a lucrative rugby contract in Japan.
Talks have stalled and the club delivered the strong message they wouldn't be drawn into a bidding war for the 22-year-old.
"The time frames were not suitable to either the Brisbane Broncos or Karmichael's management and, as a club, we have had to withdraw the offer and move on," Cullen said in a club statement.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
talulah wrote:Absolutely spot on. Half the reason for our downfall recently is the turnover in players, especially at 6 & 7. Then you go and say you would like to have Dobbo??? Dobson is good, but we've already got Tommy and he's got 2 years experience at Wigan already, he's still young, still learning, getting better all the time & and could form a half back partnership with Sam T for the next 8 years.
I selected Dobbo cause he does the stuff Tommy can't like Drop goals, 40/20's and pressure kicks. He's the perfect example of a good scrum half that dictates play and guides his team around the pitch. No disrespect to Tommy but he doesn’t seem able to do this for us or NZ.
Tommy is a very good player but with his excellent step, good broken field running, good distribution and alright short kicking game he was made to play nine as we saw in the WC. Will he be happy to play nine tho for us?
