The place you are staying in is about a 10 minute walk to the KC, but is virtually situated right behind the KC (if that makes sense)
Princes ave has plenty of bar, cafes down there but is the opposite way to where you want to be going. There is george, Brickies and Parkers pub all right next to the stadium. Imo Parkers is the best place to be before and after games, although away fans might think differently.

Is Charlston still up and running? Heard something was happening to that place, but can't remember when?

Like he said, Anlaby road end of Walton st is the best place pre match, night out then Prinny Ave wont be too shabby
