I dont think I'm being patronising at all. Were discussing an issue we seem to look at from very differing angles. Whats the problem?
My money goes to CR, I have not decided that or decided how much to donate. The club are making that decision for me and charging me for it. All I am doing is choosing to watch my team.
I have no problem and I don't want any credit. I just think it's been poorly handled and I will always praise/criticise the club were I see fit.
If I really objected I would not have bought a ticket and watched it on the TV but I never.

When they actually hand over the final cheque after the years worth of fundraising I am sure they will mention the fans etc. They have also had the shirts produced for the leeds match and organised that with the sponsor and I assume there will be many more likewise activities. If the club didn't do these things the charity would not of got that money IMO.
But its all about opinions I suppose.

I would have liked to have seen the extra £1 on ticket prices mentioned in the article in order to make it clear that the money is over and above normal takings for the match. Otherwise I don't have a real problem, and the fans ARE explicitly mentioned in the body of the text, albeit by the CIN rep and not a club spokesman.
As for cash being donated from pass holders for this particular game, I again don't have a problem with that provided FC make a contribution from their general cash reserves during the course of the year. Whether this is an explicit cash donation or money spent on organising fund raising activities is immaterial IMO.
ATEOTD a charity will be significantly better off for the club's involvement. That's what counts IMO rather than the wording of press releases.

Load of fuss for nothing IMO.
Do it on Family Fortunes all the time

Isn't it Children in Need?
At the end of the day a charity is better off to the tune of £15k+ because the club decided to do something.
