There is no way on Gods earth the the Stewards should have had to put up with the vile abuse thrown at them by that group of very drunken rabble who where stood near to one of the exit tunnels adjacent to the half way line. You only had to witness that to know that this was out of the ordinary at a Rugby League game at Doncaster. If the much larger group stood up in front of the Restaurant area were anything like the idiots near to the half way line there is no wonder it kicked off. It was thuggery on a large scale. It has no place anywhere in society and I hope that the book is well and truly chucked at them big time.

He was playing for Oldham and it was 1990 ish in the Regal Trophy at Batley. Someone leaned over the fence in their old stand and slapped him. Think him and Paul Round got sent off or sin binned for retaliating.
