The Board must be backed on this one and Alker has lost the badge.
However if the unrest re Malcolm continues personally I would go a lot further and move him on to Oldham on loan. Malcolm must tow the line and respect the Boards decision.

Time to move on Alker has been punished by the club he and certain fans need to move on and accept it insted of bringing it up in the newspaper every week.

After three thumping defeats where we have been blown away in the first 20 mins, It obvious the team have not worked hard enough or prepared themselves both physically and mentally in pre-season.
Lets also not lose sight of the fact that Alker was captain right up to the season starting, so in my view Alker was partly responsible as club captain for not getting the other players to train the house down over the winter.
I just feel sorry for Rob Parker because he seems to be taking all the flak from the fans despite not really wanting the job in the first place!
If the club back down and bring Alker back as captain it will send out the totally wrong message and make the players feel like they have the total running of the club, regardless of their indiscipline's.

The board have to stay firm on this, it has to be one rule for all. Alker broke the rules and should be punished accordingly. What kind of message would it send to the younger players as well as the others if they capitulated to the demands of Alker or the fans, who don't know what happened exactly in Florida and who may misguidedly be supporting Alker.
It's time this whole episode was finished end of. Alker should stop bleating like a little kid, shut up and get behind Parker, as should the rest of the team.

There is no proof that Alker being Captain will improve things in many ways it will make the situation worse. Consider the following
What sort of message will this send to the injured party, sorry you don't matter?
What has Parker done to deserve the sort of treatment you suggest, strip him of the captaincy because Alker has sulked for long enough?
What message will it send to the rest of the squad, behave how you like get a few fans on your side and complain loudly for months and all will be forgiven?
I don't think any employer takes the action the club did lightly, Alker should shut up and put up. parker should be given a chance by the few idiots who insist on booing him for having the job Grow up whoever you are.

I think it is about time you let this lie. Alker has disgraced himself (whether you agree or not) and it does the club no favours keeping it in the press and public eye. Your heart maybe in the right place but the time has come to get over it.

I'm guessing you are not a parent nor have any experience as a manager? - if the club were to do as you suggest it would be a complete disaster for any future manger (or the chairman or any director) who needed to make an unpopular decision.
Sometimes you just have to make your decision then stick with it - only time will tell BUT if they were to renage on it now then anarchy rules!

And this is what i mean by making the wrong decision, nobody wants the job, but alker it seems.

Not draging this up again, just seeing what everybody thinks, and i will back the club whatever they do, dont always have to aggree though, and if you look at most topics you will see that this keeps bein brought up by everyone else, not me.
And fully agree that people should lay of parker, bang out of order, but think that the cheapest option would give it alker back, rather than sack the coach or alker, but can see also what people are saying about the club giving in, and the message it sends out. Just because i know the lad dont bother me if he plays for salford or not, was watching salford years before he arrived and will be watching years after he has gone.
