Only problem is that some older players are still good. For example, Matt Gidley is 31 years old and 32 in July, and he is IMO the best centre in Super League.

I don't really think we need an age limit, if a player is quality and gives value for money his age is irrelevant.

Maybe the Aussies should bring this cap in as well. Menzies was still playing in Manlys Grand Final team last year and they have Steve Price playing in the Kangaroos squad! Now Brisbane are saying they are going to resign up Lockyer for two more years. Surely they have got some younger players who could be getting a chance rather than keeping these 30 odd year olds going season after season.
