What a vast improvement this year compared to last year in my opinion. I can only remember 3 or 4 clean breaks being made against us in the 3 games so far this season. We are coming off the line a lot quicker & are really aggressive & winning the contact in the tackle (I hate those terms coaches use on boots n all, but this time it's true!)

As MC said, once we cut out the silly mistakes & the passes start to stick even more, rather than running in 50 points, we'll be pushing 70-80.

i dont think we do, the way mat is doing it right, start with wilson and cherryholme, they may not bust as many tackles as frank and tamghart, but what they do is take the sting out of there forwards for the first 15-20 mins, ready for frank and tamghart to come on and do what they do best, it would be bad enough trying to stop frank and tamghart when there in full flight, but when u have just done 20 mins tackling it must put the wind of god up you seeing those 2 blokes coming on to the field,

About Frank & Said, they are also getting a fair amount of game time, without it affecting their stamina. They seem to play the last 20 mins of the 1st half, then good 20mins after half time, they then come on again near the end of the game. Faifr play to big Frank for getting so fit this year & so far being our best forward.

I agree - Cherryholme might not be as explosive as the other forwards but he does work hard and i cant remember him missing a tackle so far this year and he always availible to take it up and do the hard yards coming off our line.

We have to remember that Cherryholme is a young lad still, especially for a forward.
He will learn and hopefully get better, come on look how old Frank is!

yes totally agree start with frank and tamgart on the bench.

keep the best playmakers on the bench to start with as well its all important the game gets started right and we dont give teams confidence. the playmakers and the forwards we have this year we can afford to keep the likes of penky and frank and tamgart on the bench and still dominate a game.

Agreed on the defence

Also worth noting that the discipline is miles better. Far less in the way of soft penalties

The defence has been excellent so far, delighted with it. Hope we can keep it this tight against the likes of Toulouse, Haven and Widnes.
