Manly were the better team last night and a treat to watch but let's not discredit the achievements of Leeds in their prior successes in this competition.
(As a whole I think the competition is a bit of a joke as the teams playing have different squads to what won them their respective championships and it's more akin to a pre-season friendly nowadays).
Interestingly, that is the closest both teams have been to the previous seasons squads. Manly had 13 from last seasons GF winning team and from memory Leed were probably close to 15 from their GF team.
Usually the Aussie team's squad has been decimated in the off season.

Got to say this is a top signing

Yes the did play Fax but a NL1 team is never going to give the same preparation as a Super League team is i could be wrong but i think before 2006 i could be wrong both teams played Pre season after that i am sure it has been played at round 3 of superleage which gives the Superleague teams an advantage as its still in the NRL pre season which is the point i was trying to make not very successfully

I'd have red carded Peacock myself. Fair enough, it was a bit physical on both sides in the tackle, but he went after the guy and threw punches while the Aussie had his back to him. That's a cheap shot to me. Agree about all the posts re Bailey. He was just looking for an excuse to hit somebody, just as soon as he could find someone small enough to punch!

The scoreline flattered Leeds.
Manly are a bloody class act.
Peacock was right to be given the yello imo. However, I could not understand why the Manly prop was put in the bin when he was smacked in the mouth. Was he expected to stand there and just be hit all night? Plus he won.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

I wish he played for us.
