i didnt jump in when i heard about this ,i thought the RFL may be partly to blame but listening to duffen i think he is bang out of order ,and he has cost the city thousands of pounds ,hotels ,bars cafes, restraunts ,the stadium itself ,at a time we should be attracting biss to the city ,other major city in the uk are actually bidding to get rugby leauge to there venues ,this clown turns them away ,the coucil must be livid ,they spend millions getting the city a venue to host major avents and then due to some tin pot football chairman who hasnt put a penny in the stadium pot find them selfs losing out ,in a resession turning a major event away ,just hope this doesnt do any long lasting damage to our chances in the future ,but i wouldnt be supprised if it does tbh ,the rfl may not come back now ,just hope the coucil turn to the lawers to look at this SMC agreement and find a way of taking back control of our stadium ,really p*ssed off as a rugby supporter and a coucil tax payer of hull

That's the longest sentence I've ever read. Full stop anyone?

FORM IS TEMPORARY......CLASS IS PERMANENT
7th MAY 1921
CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL RESULT
HEADINGLEY STADIUM
HULL FC 16 HULL KR 14
CHAMPIONES CHAMPIONES OLE OLE OLE

THE INDEPENDANT: Today the east, which contains the biggest council estate in Europe, is poor, a place of high unemployment and low expectation. The west, which has the city centre and the university, is posh and prosperous.

You're welcome. Problem with a post like that is it's very difficult to read, you get half way through and give up because it hurts your eyes.

Some posters on here have a twisted sense of logic and a problem reading beyond a posters name.

I suggested instead of whining like scelped puppies, you wait for the facts, but no, you prefer to jump to conclusions.

Now, the decision aside as I've commented on that, some claim this is a rugby mad city, fine, have the game here, it'll sell out to locals therefore no extra income to this area.

Have the game just an hour down the road (hardly a problem to rugby mad types) more people can see it live and others can watch in pubs and clubs bringing income to local businesses.

You should be praising Mr Duffens business sense and consideration to local trade and RL fans as well as counting your blessings that Hull FC's board have turned down every opportunity they've had to be more involved with the SMC. What a mess they'd have made of things if you lot are an example of the small minded RL attitudes. After all, if they'd had their way, this question would never have arisen as they wanted an even smaller ground whereas football requested a bigger one.

We actually got turned down for one of the minor football Internationals for similar reasons too in the past, but I doubt you'd like to hear that as it screws up your opportunity to blaim football for your problems.

St Helens and Gateshead fan.

You're only called FC, because you know football is far more popular.

We'll never be mastered...

More people can see it live in a stadium with 60% of the capacity of the KC?

your second paragraph also contradicts your first in so far as it is not just "locals" that come to the KC to watch the internationals.

Are you saying that there aren't enough local supporters to fill the Stadium? I thought Elland Road's Capacity was around the 40,000 mark?

thats the final. The keepmoat stadium in Doncaster has the game that would otherwise have been at the KC IIRC.

there are enough to fill it, weather they would all choose to go or not is another matter, irrespective of that, tickets go on sale outside the city boundary you know.

The fact is when asked what Wigan would do if they get allocated a football game on that date they apparently stated they would ask the Football League to put us away that week or if the worst came to the worst play the game the day before or the day after! Which poses the question.......

The Wail (with the exception of the letters page) and Blunderside have both gone completely silent on the whole thing today, yet it seems to still be a real "Hot Potatoe" for both sets of fans!

When Duffen blamed the whole thing on the RL Blunderside promised to ask them in an interview for their side of things but now once again silence!

Edit Sorry proved wrong they have read a couple of E Mails out about it Burnsey defensive of Duffen as always but Nick Wood of the Daily Wail said of Duffen, and the lack of an international, "Well its because he's a soccer man" Great!

Make of it what you will!
