Darrell isn't even 21 yet and believe me, people haven't seen the best of him yet.
After a handful of games in 2006, he had impressive 2007 scoring 10 tries in about 20 games which earned him the no.3 jersey last year. It's understandable that he didn't set the world on fire for his first season as the first choice centre, he's a young lad and was expected to develop a new partnership with Calderwood who himself was injured for the first part of season.
He just needs time in my opinion and an opportunity to build up a partnership with Amos Roberts. One of my only criticisms of Goulding is that he isn't the most creative centre, but his ability to hit the ball at speed towards gaps will attract the opposition centre/winger which will leave space for his winger.
I'd like to see Goulding working on attracting defenders with footwork as well as his pace. Also, I don't want to see him lose much more weight either.
If Im honest, I can sort of live with a player having below average defence if their attack is good.Goulding showed good signs of this in 06 and 08 but since, he has been rubbish in my opinion. I cannot think of a single time he has ever passed the ball. certainly not in a good situation. Its so frustrating. if he doesnt sort that out he'll be gone

Didn't he pass it for one of your tries last week?
I'd take him at Saints, defensive lapses and all.
I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.

He did not bomb two others and maybe that is the problem. Supporters not knowing what they are watching. He made 1 break and his winger Phelps was nowhere to be seen. He broke again and Byrne pulled off a magnificent tackle that left Byrne doubled over and gasping for air. He then missed 1 possible try. A try that Gidley would have scored, Senior too but other centres lacking a decade plus of experience, no. I do wish supporters would not make incorrect or inaccurate statements.

No-One as far as I know is blaming him for the one were Phelps should have been outside him.
He should have attempted the Pass in the 1st half but as on numerous occasions his hands werent good enough.
The one in the 2nd half was a shocker, he Should have done a Gardner and fell over the line, he didnt.
It had nothing to do with experience etc. You can have all the experience in the world but is doesnt mean you will or wont score a try in a certain situation.
He tried to step the man and it didnt come off, it was an error, apart from that he had a good game.

Goulding yeh made a couple of high profile errors last week but for me he offers much more than Phelps. 1. not on quota 2 hes lost weight but still alot bigger than Phelps 3. Potential, hes still young and only going to get better.

He opted for his own pace instead of passing it to his winger, hence why he bombed it.
Nobody is slating Goulding for it, just merely an observation.
