He did have to come a long way to get it and it be fair to the lad, no one else seemed to give a monkeys. he was the only one that made any effort, unfortunately for him he didn't get to it and the rest is history.

I thought Blaymire was going towards the ball but then stopped so I presume Grix made the call, everyone makes mistakes and both had good games in general. Blame probabl lies between them, maybe Matty should have made an earlier call for the ball and maybe Grix should have seen the ball was closer to Blaymire and let him deal with it.

It's a mistake and i see no reason to blame anyone.

Whoever makes the call it is their ball, if Grix calls for it and Blaymire go's in then that would be nothing short of amateur. IF Grix called it then he is at fault simple as.

I tend to agree.

Let's also not take anything away from the kick, as it was put into a good area, up high which caused problems for us and which allowed Leeds to get close to the ball.

A well judged kick and a bit of bad luck on our part.

I don't care if we win, lose or draw as long as the team gives 100% every week and each player wears the shirt with pride.

Spot on - one thing I like about RL is that there are so many different factors to enjoy, from 'blitzkrieg' forward plays to sweeping back moves to well judged kicks or crunching tackles. I prefer it if it's Wakey doing it, but just occasionally other teams can show a bit of skill!

As established it was Grix.

A leeds fan next to me actually said before the ball was kicked that if they could give the ball some height and drop it in the huge gap, there was as much chance of a Leeds player getting there than a Wakey lad as there was a huge space between the 10 and our try line.
I replied, dont worry, "we will cover it if necessary" and low and behold they put it there and Grix has to come 20 metres to try and claim it.

When you only have to cover half the field that shouldnt be happening but i would think this will be rectified for this week.

We've been caught out leaving that gap before, seem to remember Seinfeld kicking one through to collect. Think it was when Leeds absolutely battered us at home.

Anyone remember the home game a few years back against Saints when they scored straight from the kick off with a similar punt. Holland wasn’t playing and the ball was placed about 20m in front of the stand in fullback. Needless to say nobody was there to collect it leaving the path clear for Saints to regain the ball and score from the next phase.
