Several times I've expressed concern about Mathers' personal wellbeing. At present, for whatever reason, he's not up to SL standard. It's doing no good, either to him or us, playing him in the first team at present. He needs time in the reserves to rebuild his confidence.
When he got dropped in the reserves last year he refused to play...

Sorry.
I was just dismayed that a new thread had immediately veered off towards Mathers again. The worst thing he did on Sunday was pull out of the 50/50 kick through. Admittedly, that had me fuming but we have far more pressing concerns than Mathers' defence.
At the end of the day that team - including Mathers - only conceded 12 points. With anything like an attack we should have been able to overcome that. That IMO is the overriding concern at Wigan.

To a team consisting of the clubs 17 only fit players, god help us what a fully fit top 6 squad would have done to us!!! (no disrespect to Wakefield, who had they taken all there chances would have been 20 up at halftime)
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

No arguments there. Mathers wasn't the only one at fault in that side defensively, and yes, our lack of attack is the biggest worry.
As for Friday night, I can't see how we'll have been able to put it right in five days.
Hmm not really wanting to put my head over the parapet and get it shot off, as I am not usually overcritical of players, but didnt Mathers allow perfectly catchable bombs to bounce at least 3 times on sunday ?
Steve Hampson would turn in his grave, if he were dead

If Wigans defense doesn't align itself properly to cover those kicks there could be serious trouble.
Beware.
Not negative, merely an observation.
Whilst Leeds lost to Hull and Wakefield in friendly’s. Wigan will lose to them in SL games. Surely the Warriors are overrated by yourself?
