Its just not that important to SL players imo. Its all about the GF and the CC final and then International rugby, Roses matches are just something to get out of to avoid getting injured or the chance to have a rest. Sadly I doubt we will have something to rival SOO.

I have organised a ceremony (with the consent of the WC organisers) to celebrate the opening of the world cup, feel free to come.
It's on Thursday night at Goole Working Mens Club. Guest speakers include Malcolm Kennedy, (world cup winner in 1926) Chico Jackson and comedian Neil Hudgell. We're quite short on raffle prizes, so if you could bring a bottle of wine, toy, something like that, that'd be great. All proceeds will go towards a kit for the Scottish national team.

In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
