Right - hypothetical question : We all know if we had a creative world class half-back, we would improve. Chances of one leaving their current club (or being allowed to) to join us is low. We THEREFORE could only tempt a club to release (like Fielden leaving Bradford, because Bradford saw cash). So, we my have to TRADE IN a quality player from a position we have options, to get a half-back from a side who need the other position more.

We have too many hookers, but Swain is leaving and although Godwin and Motu are good hookers, they will not be enough of a carrot.

For me, we have potentially 3 good full backs. Briscoe, Motu and Horne (He's never a half-back, but good 'backing up' full back.)

So : QUESTION : Who would you trade as a FULL-BACK to a club who needs one badly, and could give us a proven Half-back in return.

MY VIEW : Offer Briscoe to Bradford for Deacon. I'd hate to loose him, but HOW MUCH do we need a half back, and move Horne to Full Back. OR - Let Horne Go to tempt a Half-Back.............................. Let me know your views

I'd wait until Cooke comes back, we are fine with him in the team. Then look for a half back for next season. That way we dont have to sacrifice anyone

We will be alot better side when we have Shifty as halfback possibly sooner rather than later.

If we were going to sell a player and stump up some decent cash, then i'd want a better calibre of player than Deacon .

Deacon is not the creative half back we need. He has a good boot and that is about it.

The funny thing is, I bet there are some people who would complain at signing Deacon, but say we should never of got rid of Danny Brough

Deacon.

He would only ever be a short-term panic measure. IMO he is not the kind of player we should be looking to sign at halfback for the long term.

And what makes you think Bradford would be willing to part with him even if we were stupid enough to ask?

Hold on to me baby, his bony hands will do you no harm

Made big losses again 2005 and are keeping quite on financial matters in 2006.
