| A fantastic tribute to Gareth Ellis at the POTY awards last night, and clear as a leader of men that he's irreplaceable. My sense is that the captaincy will go to either Taylor or Houghton who are both in the leadership group; not sure there are any other obvious candidates. Great for this group that they've had Gaz as a role model for several years and he remains with the club.

| I think Houghton is the obvious choice. Watts and Taylor would be my other shouts

| Isn't Houghton vice captain now? Would be the logical move for him to step up

| Houghton definitely captain for me.
I wonder if promoting Sneyd to vice captain would be a worthwhile move? More likely to always be on the pitch unlike Watts and Taylor (despite their big minutes) and it could promote an extra level of responsibility in him.

| Mini is a massive influence in camp and a great role model. I remember one player telling me that in the changing rooms after the Warrington Final amidst all the mayhem he went over to Jamie Shaul and said (of Houghtons Heroics) "Remember that that's a game saving tackle!" He's a magnificent roll model fitness, training and preparation wise but quite a private man as well and he's not that obviously vocal either.

Shaul must've taken note after his own version of #Tackle52 this year!!

Hull FC captaincy decision not so clear cut says Lee Radford www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/ru ... ord-754631
Not too bad having options of:
2 international captains
Double Lance Todd winner
Last year’s MoS and SL HitMan *5
England prop
Announced around Christmas.

| I'd go for Mini with Houghton as vice captain.
