Rovers, grasped defeat from the jaws of victory. Cas outplayed. Wigan and Leeds are poor but will come good, 2 wins. Wakey piled the points on again. London, almost a repeat of Rovers. Now this, Warrington have given us 2 record defeats and the nature of Friday’s game is totally unacceptable. The buck has to stop with the coaching team, they say the lads have trained the house down every week but then come up with lame excuses when we perform crap. Radford must have had an input into retention and recruitment, if not, he’s in an untenable situation and should make that clear. Blaming rental agreements etc. doesn’t wash anymore we’ve been at KC for long enough for that to be an acceptable loss and accounted for, it hasn’t stopped success in the past? I’ll still get my passes next season come what may but a change is required soon because relegation dogfights, whilst being exciting, if you stay up, if the unthinkable happens you lose support. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, apart from The Darkside Daves.
Sums it up for me very well and how I feel.
Whilst Radford and Last have done well in what the club have achieved yet again we fail to build on the success and instead go backwards at quite significantly as opposed to rivals moving forward.
The excuses have gone on for long enough, yes Warrington are a class act with a top coach but its the fact we have been totally outplayed, out fought, out enthused and pretty much failed to turn up that was the biggest issue I had on Friday.
Dress it up however you like we have had a full pre season to improve on last seasons poor showing irrelevant of injuries and we simply haven't. We haven't put in a sustained quality performance yet, other than a 20 minute period against Leeds.
The recruitment has been poor and we have far too many players that are mediocre and past it to be competing with the likes of Warrington and St's however we should at least be able to put up a fight.
The excuses on injuries, SMC costs etc just don't wash, as every team has injuries and Radford & Pearson have stated we went with numbers instead of quailty so we are better placed to cover the injuries!!! The SMC costs are nothing new and it not like we are new tenants.
Year on year we smash the shirt sales targets and have been increasing the memberships so off the field things seem ok but on the field we are poor and don't seem to have learnt the lessons that continually kill us each season.
We don't have a good damn giving right to win games but we shouldn't be losing in the manner we are.
For me Radfords had time enough to build on the success of 2016 & 2017 but we have stagnated and gone backwards and it was imperative after the way last season finished we bounced back this season and hit the ground running but we haven't and in all honesty look miles away from doing so.
