Correct but calderwood would have a higher wet to dry ratio (just made that up) than the average back

| I thought it was a bit odd 'Alderwoo' not clapping the fans with the rest of the team after the match. I've never been a big fan of Calderwood but he plays for us now so I must warm to him. Thought he did well whilst being outplayed by a local youngster

I thought that too but then again, he was limping very slightly and I think the cramp he got near the end of the game was still hurting him. I think he just wanted to get to the dressing room to get it sorted.

| Is there a winger who reads a game better than him, whenever there was a break he was there to effect the tackle. If we can get the ball to him in space more often he is going to be a great signing. No negatives from me tonight as I cant see anyone else would have stopped Richards scoring as I thought the kick was better than inch perfect and Richards arrived at the exact moment the ball did to snatch it from his grasp

I know he didnt.
A week before that game and that right centre spot could have gone to one of threee players and may still change game by game.

So during training for the week G Horne wasnt running through the moves in that position then? I beg to differ.

You go stalker boy.
My post reads a week before not days before.
My point is that Yeaman basically has the left Centre spot sewn up. The right Centre spot will probably change between three or four players throughout the season possibly making it harder for Calderwood to forge a relationship with his Centre.

nope, why do i need to go to know these things?
Agree though that its likely that someone else will play in that position this season. No one will get a chance though while Horne is playing like he is.
Interesting to see whether Briscoe gets given the chance when Raynor comes back.

| Its a nice situation to be in. 4 or 5 players could play right centre and I am sure whoever has the position knows that. Competition for places is a strength and I would go so far as saying no player is nailed on for any position if performance doesnt warrant it.

Yup. The risk as has been highlighted is that relationships betweens players can be stifled with a lack of understanding but i'd rather we had the form players in the 17.

Personally I think 4 or 5 players could play either Centre spot but we know Yeamans a shoe in for the left spot.
Whilst Yeamans defence is the most solid IMO he can sometimes be lazy in attack only offering to work when the ball comes to him instead of running a line and creating an option.
I'd like to see his spot under pressure a bit more.
Its been said in the media that no ones spot is safe but even through bad performances we've never seen evidence of this.
For me Briscoe isn't a Winger. He's had first team experience now and knows what its all about and i'd like to see him go back to Under21's and develope himself as a Centre until the time is right.
Hall for me is more suited to cover the Wing spot. He's a similar player to the likes of Pat Richards, Hicks and in the future possible even King, tall and pacey.
For now G.Horne is doing a good job at Centre but i'd still like to see him move into the pack at some point.

some good points there mate, but agar sees briscoe as a winger and he feels that the lad is quite adequate to play in raynors boots, not sure what will happen when raynor is fit but who knows if briscoe keeps up the good form whats to say raynor will get back in the team.
