Why is the statement wrong? From what point in time are we using as a yardstick in order to calculate the improvement ? Come out with solid evidence it is untrue (do a bit of digging) then produce the facts . As an aside where is the evidence that Tom L is leaving?

With that number of directors leaving in the last couple of months (have they been replaced) ?, the owner acquiring a full time position in his preferred sport and a poster claiming the players were paid late last month would seem a concern IMO.

But your opinion is worth nothing on here. Go back where you belong.

Tony Sutton actually left last year (I think it was August or September) to take up a full-time position at Hull College. If he has remained as a director until recently I doubt he was on the payroll. Alternatively it may just be there was a delay in notifying Companies House of his resignation.

On one hand you have poster who comes on here claiming something positive about the club, suddenly people start demanding to see evidence.
Then a few posts later, people starting saying how the poor the club is at the same thing, nobody (except me and to be honest I don't care and it was more to raise a point) asks for any evidence, just takes the word of the poster.
It just seems that everyone believes anything negative about the club at the current time, but anything positive is immediately rubbished.
Without any evidence from either side, nobody can state how good or bad the current commercial side of the business is, the current financial state of the country compared to 5 years ago will certainly have had an impact on the corporate side of the club.
The point you make is fair in principle, that assertions should be backed up with evidence but in this case the two statements are significantly different.
The first is that "Sarah Mcallister has trebled hull fc commercial sales in the time she has had at the club". This is a time bound claim (2009-2015) about a discrete figure. The person making it must be basing their claim on some kind of evidence (accounts or sales records for example) so we are asking them to share this evidence with us to verify their claim.
The second is a more general assertion that "The commercial side of Hull FC has noticeably gone downhill over the past few years". This is obviously a negative statement but it doesn't refer to any discrete metric that the poster has based their statement on. It is more an expression of opinion than fact. I would suggest that rather than asking for evidence straight away you'd be better asking for clarification on what the poster means by "commercial side" and "downhill". You can then ask for relevant evidence. It may be that the poster means that the shirt sponsor is no longer a global brand and various facilities within the stadium are closed on matchdays. The evidence to those is in the public domain, as is evident in the post by The Dentist Wilf.

i've a leeds utd supporting friend who is involved with the supporters club and today there was apparently a bizarre press conference featuring the owner, stating things along the line of he wants to pick the team and the current manager hasn't been given the job yet etc etc. my friend's reports are adam pearson looked flustered and unhappy, so his stay at leeds may yet turn out to be a short one

Yes, I mentioned this in my post last night. It was on the late Calendar. I can't see that lasting long, it was quite bizzare.

Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.

I don't believe it, and I am not about to start researching every banal message board post. It's categorically not true and you know it. So, perhaps then you can prove she has trebled the commercial revenue of Hull FC? Either that, or the poster can probably define which element of commercial revenue she has trebled?
