Yes it’s a pitty but at least people have been given some notice of cancellation, I, along with many others at the Christmas lunch this afternoon only got to know about the electricity failure shortly before lunch was due to be served. The news was also given that James Deighton had arrived at the ground just as he received a phone call saying a family member had been taken to hospital, and therefore had to cancel his appearance at the lunch, then we were told that it appeared construction workers at the ground had damaged a power cable, but not to worry, they did serve lunch and then dessert. Mr Powell did appear and apologised for the players not showing up at the lunch as planned, but after 2 hours of gym and wrestling workout the players were hot and sweaty but due to the power failure they couldn’t take a shower, and went home but at least Mr Powell did an interview which was entertaining, and it wasn’t such a bad afternoon as I won a raffle prize
